Who we are

We are a couple planning our wedding, and using this site to provide information to our guest, friends, and family. We also have a method for users to contact us with general questions, and will record information provided in our RSVP form.

What personal data we collect and why we collect it

Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Media

If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

Cookies

If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

If you have an account and you log in to this site, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.

If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after 1 day.

Embedded content from other websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

Analytics

Who we share your data with

We use Google Analytics to track the usage of our site and identify errors. By using our site you agree to their terms of service. Google analytics will provide us with lots of information, down to what device you use to access our site and on what browser. Mainly we are using it to see if we have dead links on the site, how many views we get, and are not using this data to target you in anyway. We kinda just want the site to work well. That being said, Google Analytics is also depositing cookie onto your device to track your usage of our site.

If you are attending our wedding and fill out an RSVP we will share your data with our wedding vendors. Most of this is pretty self explanatory, if you tell us you want fish for dinner we will provide the venue, our wedding coordinator, the servers, and caterer with your name and choice of food. We will not share the data you provide with any party that is not involved with furnishing that service to you.

All of our forms are made using WPForms. When you fill out a contact form or RSVP form your data will be shared with them. Their terms of service agreement is available here.

We are using minted.com for wedding invitations and save the dates. We may take information you provide to us and input that into minted so that we can send you printed communications. Their terms of service are available here.

We routinely back our site up, and ultimately your data will be shared without backup service and our storage service. This is only done so that we can recover our site incase something happens. We are using UpdraftPlus Backups, and their terms of service can be found here. These backups are stored on dropbox, whose terms of service can be found here.

How long we retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

If you fill out any contact form or RSVP form, we keep and retain the information that you entered into these fields indefinitely. It is stored in plain text and is human readable. We are happy to delete this information upon request. If you need any of your information provided to you or deleted just drop us a message on our contact page.

What rights you have over your data

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes. Requests about your data should be directed through our contact page or emailed to us at info@lauren-adam.com.

Where we send your data

Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.

Your contact information

Your contact information maybe shared with our wedding vendors. This is only done to ensure that you are provided with the proper service you requested. We will not share your email when it is not necessary for the task at hand.

We will share your contact information with our wedding card vendor, and any thank you gift vendor we may use. The wedding card vendor we are currently using is Minted. You can find their terms of service here.
